Broadband Forum: Broadband gets 600 million subscribers worldwide

According to the Broadband Forum and analyst firm Point Topic, service providers worldwide added more than 16 million broadband subscribers during the first quarter of this year. The additions brought the total number of broadband subscribers worldwide to more than 600 million.

Hancock Telephone upgrade amis at broadband, Carrier Ethernet, mobile backhaul

Hancock Telephone, an independent telephone company serving New York and Pennsylvania, will upgrade its network using equipment from ADTRAN, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN), the systems company reveals. The upgrade will aim to improve Hancock’s ability to provide fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and Carrier Ethernet over fiber services. The latter will encompass mobile backhaul services, ADTRAN says.

Alcatel-Lucent gains Broadband China deal extension for China Telecom
