Fiber SenSys inks partnerships to improve robust perimeter security strategy
Fiber SenSys, an Optex Group company specializing in perimeter security solutions, recently announced a series of partnerships with industry manufacturers whose products expand the company’s scope and complement its fiber-optic sensor offerings.
According to Fiber SenSys marketing director Tony Cardo, the close partnerships will enable the company to improve overall perimeter security solutions and address demanding field applications in today’s market.
The related technology enhancements include:
Microwave Intrusion Detection – For accurate and effective volumetric intrusion detection, Fiber SenSys now offers the rugged, outdoor MD512D microwave volumetric sensor. The MD512 D employs leading-edge digital microwave technology, combined with digital signal processing, providing enhanced reliability through the analysis of the microwave signals transmitted and received. The product is available both in X and K bands, according to Cardo.
IR and Visible LED Security Lighting -- With cameras and guard responses remaining vital parts of any perimeter system, lighting needs are increasing, as cameras migrate to high definition. Illuminating the camera field of view with an IR lighting system significantly improves the performance of the camera system. IR remains invisible to the human eye, so the system maintains an element of being covert. White light is also available for guard response to deter the intruder from entering the site. Additionally, the LED white is the most energy efficient way to light yards and large outdoor areas.
Video Management Systems – As a result of a partnership with Milestone, a provider of open source video management systems, Fiber SenSys systems are now fully-compatible with IP cameras, encoders and digital recorders. Milestone’s technology capability made it easy to create high-level integration and form complete solutions using other perimeter security devices, says a Fiber Sensys press release.
Headend/Annunciation -- Fiber Commander is an FSI proprietary security monitoring and control system that provides intelligent TC/IP integration to industry leading fiber optic sensors and device monitoring software. Now supporting Adam I/O and the Milestone PIE (where power over Ethernet is facilitated), Fiber SenSys is able to bring in relay contacts and network communications from third party sensors. Relay outputs can also be controlled to open gates or perform other device management tasks through Fiber Commander software.
Fiber SenSys manufactures fiber-optic intrusion detection solutions for government and military installations, airports, oil refineries, electrical substations, nuclear power plants, water purification and storage, corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities. It is the only fiber-optic solution that is PL-1 Nuclear certified, and if offers the lowest cost total cost of ownership in the industry, according to Cardo.
