2012: Vytran To Feature Compact, Semi-Automated Optical Fiber Splicer At CLEO
Vytran, an innovative supplier of optical fiber splicing and processing solutions, will feature its newest optical fiber splicer, "CAS-4100," and show a selection of other high-performance fiber processing equipment, at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) 2012 exposition (booth #1426). CLEO: Expo is scheduled for May 8-10, 2012, at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California.
"At CLEO, Vytran will demonstrate a full range of optical fiber processing products with a focus on the new CAS-4100 splicer," said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. "CAS-4100 combines the high-performance splicing capabilities typical of Vytran's filament fusion-based products with a compact, easy-to-integrate package, and an intuitive and ultra-simple graphical user interface that allows splicing at the push of a single button. It is designed to make high-quality, high-volume splicing easy and efficient."
CAS-4100 and CAS-4100-P (for polarization-maintaining fibers) make up Vytran's newest family of optical fiber splicers -- the compact, semi-automated CAS-4000 Series. In CAS systems, all components, including the computer and display, are embedded into the splicer to form a single unit ideal for use where space is limited. CAS splicers also feature Vytran's One Step Splice process software to make fiber splicing and process control simple and intuitive for the operator.
Vytran will also demonstrate its recently released GPX-3600 optical fiber glass processor at its CLEO: Expo booth. GPX-3600 is a versatile, filament fusion-based system designed to create splices, combiners, tapers, couplers, end caps and other fused components on optical fibers with diameters as large as 2 mm.
In addition, Vytran will demonstrate a new PFC-400 portable fiber cleaver, the ideal companion product to CAS splicers. Other on-site products will include a selection of PTR-200 fiber recoaters/proof testers, an LDC-400 fiber cleaver, an FFS-2000 splicing workstation and an SAS-400 hot acid stripper.
