BT increases sales growth targets for its conference resale channel

BT Conferencing (NYSE: BT), the conferencing unit of the UK-based incumbent telco, anticipates that it is going to see major growth in its U.S. conferencing channel partner program.

Tim Passingham, BT Conferencing's general manager for the Americas, forecast that the overall conferencing reseller market opportunity will be between $450-600 million.

What's making the service provider confident that it can meet its goals is the sales of video managed services and telepresence.

Enterprise video services has been a growing focus for BT. Working with its vendor partner Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO), the service provider has debuted its Global Video Exchange program and has established various interconnection agreements with other global service providers including AT&T (NYSE: T) and Verizon (NYSE: VZ) to make it easier to hold video conferencing sessions.

Having these telepresence agreements in place combined with the global reach of BT's network will be a key selling point the service provider can use to lure more resellers that want to quickly differentiate their portfolios with another conferencing option.
