Kabel Deutschland taps ADVA Optical Networking for nationwide fiber-optic network

The network, which includes a fully meshed backbone, will comprise 26 major nodes and more than 50 intermediate sites. ADVA’s FSP 3000 directionless, multi-degree ROADMs will provide the key building blocks for the network, which will include spans as long as 1000 km.

The fully automated capabilities of the network are significant new features that reduce operational costs, planning requirements, and lead times, ADVA asserts.
